New Pattern: Star Gazing!! + Giveaway!

I am SO excited to announce the release of my newest pattern, Star Gazing!! I've shared lots of progress shots and info of this pattern already (here), so I'll keep this minimal. But I want to share none-the-less. :)

Here is my 6 inch block that I made last night:

It is less than perfect. I don't usually piece this small, so we didn't really get along. I did learn a lot though, and I think if I make more this size, I'll be able to do a better job (like pressing seams open instead of to the side). Check out #fbpStarGazing to see the tester blocks and their progress shots, they are gorgeous!!!

Here are some of them:

Kirsten (@materialgirlkirsten on IG) has made three 6 inch blocks so far! I LOVE these bright happy colors!!

Sarah (@123quilt on Instagram) also used the 6 inch pattern and went the extra mile! Check out this block!!! SWOON!!!! I need to make a few like this. I LOVE how it came together!

This is actually one of many examples in the pattern. I have a whole page of possibilities, which don't even scratch the surface of what you could do with this pattern! :)

I'll share more tester blocks on next week! :) There are lots and I LOVE them all!!

Anyway, if you want to give it a try, you can find the pattern in 4 different sizes: 6 inch, 12 inch, 18 inch, and 24 inch, in my Bigcartel shop or my Etsy shop!

UPDATE: Pattern is now also available in a bundle of ALL 4 SIZES! Priced as buy 3 sizes get 4th FREE!

Don't forget to use the coupon codes I posted earlier this month! :)

Giveaway!!

And to celebrate this huge finish, I'd love to give away a copy! Simply leave a comment sharing
  • what size you would want
  • and what colors, fabric line(s), designer(s), you would use!

I'll pick a winner on Tuesday!

P.s. I am working on something awesome to continue my birthday celebration month, and I can't wait to share it with you!!! I'm hoping to have it finished early next week.  So be sure to check back! :)

Happy Weekend!

Diane

  2. I wouls use the 18 inch, with different shades of blues and yellows. I have a fabric ( I can't rememeber the name of the line or designer) that has stars and planets on a quite small scale in different sades of blue and yelling.

  17. I would totally love to use some Kaffe Fasset fabrics and wonderful prints. They would be very colorful and keep your eye moving. I am in love with the precision required for small blocks so I would make some of those but also mix and match with other sized in the same top to show the versatility of the block.

  20. I think I would make an 18" for a wall hanging and for a quilt.. As far as fabric and designer I would use Kona solids for the wall hanging in aqua, peach and gray maybe. For the quilt I'm thinking red, black and white from my stash. Thanks for the chance.

  23. Wow impressive!! I would love the 12" and I think is a variety of greens by Dear Stella and Timeless Treasures would be just the ticket!

  24. This pattern is amazing. I'd love the 18' blocks made in AMH's true colours collection or Alison glass handcrafted collection.

  25. I think I would probably go for the 18 inch or the 24 inch, I can't decide LOL, and I would go solids

  26. Wow, what a great pattern, I think that I would try a design similar to the one Sara did, maybe in reds and aquas.

  27. Love this! I would go for the 18 inch pattern and make it in Kona solids in blues and greens

  28. I would choose the 12" although the 6" is also a possibility! The larger size would be great for a Medallion quilt. I would probably use either Tula Pink fabric or solids.

  29. I would choose either the 6" or 12" blocks. They are stunning and when put together would make fantastic patterns. I am partial to blue and greens, so I think I would start there and maybe some gold or yellow.

  30. Very pretty block - think the 12" size would be a nice common size block to make

  31. Gorgeous block! I would use Tula and Cotton and Steel with the 12" size.

  32. I'd want to make the 18 inch, using Alison Glass Handmade fabric. Wouldn't that be lush?

  33. 12 or 18 inch - I like big blocks (and I cannot lie…). I think with would be fun with some new cotton and steel. OH… OR, some Kaffe Fassett on white!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I think I would have to start with a large block, since it seems a lot of seams for a small block. But once I'd got the hang of it, I'd like to try them in all sizes! It's great to see the different possibilities with the pattern, I want to try them all, and in all the colours!!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I would do either a 12 in or 18 inch block in solids such as Moda or Robert Kauffman in white or Jinny Beyers on black.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I think the larger, 12 or 18 would be best for to try if I win! I would love to use some grays & neutrals in the background and use teals and cheddar along with it. I would have to play with it to see what would work best! I also would love to try some Tula Pink fabric I have.

  37. I think I would want the largest block so it could be the center of a baby quilt! I would use different fabrics from my stash but in pastel colors!

  38. Hi there Diane,
What a great new pattern. I would probably go for a 12" block as I don't really enjoy pricing small blocks…something always seems to get missed!
As for fabric, I just got a fat quarter bundle of Enchanted so that would be really sweet!
    Thanks!
    Quilty Huggs,
    Jacqueline
