Here is the block that I end up making. I used all scraps - so it's not really anything that I'll probably use, but at least you can see how the diagonal and curved piecing turn out. :)
The whole thing was inspired by this block that I made for the Moody Blues 2 Group, and I had a question from Annabella, if I knew of any tutorials on how to do improv. I couldn't think of any, so I just made one up. :)
I made my hubby suffer through the video for some input before publishing it. He actually like it! And he doesn't know very much about sewing. I hope you like it too!! (It's a little long, but even my hubby was surprised when I told him how long it was. So hopefully it will be fast for you.) :)
At least for me it is loading slowly, so I am working on figuring out how to compress it so it will load faster! I'll update this if I can get it fixed. Otherwise, hopefully it will be faster for you.

Wow Diane - that`s a fantastic video (I`ve downloaded it and hope that`s okay)! I feel confident to try some improv. piecing now (even curved) and love that you are not quite a pro!I`ll let you know how I get on. Lovely to hear (I`m guessing) Mabel`s gurgles in the background. Kudos to you on the improv. piecing and the video making. Fabulous job.

I would have liked to see how you trimmed the inside of the curved seam as well as how you pressed it--I really am a newbie! I live in the Middle East and there aren't many quilters to learn from so I am relying on tutorials and information from the internet. Please keep it up!

When it first started I thought, oh I don't think I'll watch the whole 14 mins, but within the first minute I was hooked, I forgot about the time and just enjoyed myself. I didn't know how to do diagonals or curves (although I have done drunkard's path but this isn't altogether the same) so I learnt so much from you, thank you. I loved the jokes and other titles you fed along the bottom, they had me laughing. When I do my drunkard's curves I use a 'That Purple Thang' to hold the fabrics together without getting the needle through my fingers - especially useful when you get to the last bit of each piece.
