Here is my 6 inch block that I made last night:
It is less than perfect. I don't usually piece this small, so we didn't really get along. I did learn a lot though, and I think if I make more this size, I'll be able to do a better job (like pressing seams open instead of to the side). Kirsten (@materialgirlkirsten on IG) has made three 6 inch blocks so far! I LOVE these bright happy colors!!
Sarah (@123quilt on Instagram) also used the 6 inch pattern and went the extra mile! Check out this block!!! SWOON!!!! I need to make a few like this. I LOVE how it came together!
This is actually one of many examples in the pattern. I have a whole page of possibilities, which don't even scratch the surface of what you could do with this pattern! :)
I'll share more tester blocks on next week! :) There are lots and I LOVE them all!!

I would like to make the 18" star in a yellow and gray combination.
ReplyDeleteI wouls use the 18 inch, with different shades of blues and yellows. I have a fabric ( I can't rememeber the name of the line or designer) that has stars and planets on a quite small scale in different sades of blue and yelling.

ReplyDeleteI would totally love to use some Kaffe Fasset fabrics and wonderful prints. They would be very colorful and keep your eye moving. I am in love with the precision required for small blocks so I would make some of those but also mix and match with other sized in the same top to show the versatility of the block.

ReplyDeleteI think I would make an 18" for a wall hanging and for a quilt.. As far as fabric and designer I would use Kona solids for the wall hanging in aqua, peach and gray maybe. For the quilt I'm thinking red, black and white from my stash. Thanks for the chance.

ReplyDeleteI would choose the 12" although the 6" is also a possibility! The larger size would be great for a Medallion quilt. I would probably use either Tula Pink fabric or solids.
ReplyDeleteI would choose either the 6" or 12" blocks. They are stunning and when put together would make fantastic patterns. I am partial to blue and greens, so I think I would start there and maybe some gold or yellow.

ReplyDeleteI think I would have to start with a large block, since it seems a lot of seams for a small block. But once I'd got the hang of it, I'd like to try them in all sizes! It's great to see the different possibilities with the pattern, I want to try them all, and in all the colours!!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great new pattern. I would probably go for a 12" block as I don't really enjoy pricing small blocks…something always seems to get missed!
As for fabric, I just got a fat quarter bundle of Enchanted so that would be really sweet!
