Zodiac BOM: Aquarius Block

It has been a lot of fun to see people's progress for the Zodiac BOM show up on Instagram and Flickr! I'm loving the coloring pages and the Aquarius blocks that I've seen so far!!

I wanted to quickly share my Aquarius blocks with you! I made my block for my final sampler quilt, and decided to also make a mini quilt with 4 blocks. I love playing around with this pattern!!!

Here is my 18 inch block for my sampler quilt:

I am using my Sandi Henderson stash and I'm really excited to get all my blocks put together!!



I also decided to play around with a secondary design and am working on a mini quilt. I made 4 - 9 inch blocks to create an 18 inch mini. I am in LOVE with this!! These Cotton + Steel prints are dreamy. These basic prints are some of my favorite to use!

I had fussy cut all the light green squares that are in the corners of the blocks, and didn't realize until I was basting it last night that I had not put them in the right place! Not a huge deal, but I'm kind of bummed. If you look in the center, see how the two bottom squares have 5 of those "+" in them? I was planning on making all four of those like that, put the single "+" squares in the corner, and the rest were to go around the outside. Anyway... just a small detail that I think would have been awesome, but oh well. Next time I'll pay more attention to that! I do love the fussy cut pink prints though! Those stars in the center of the blocks, and it's hard to se in the picture, but the medium fabric has letters, and they are all oriented correctly! wahoo! Just one of the reasons I love using the cutting templates!!!


We had our small group quilt group last night so I got this all prepped and started hand stitching it! I am using some metallic silver thread for the low volume/off white sections and so far it's looking pretty awesome! ;) I'll share some more pictures soon.


In other aspects of the Zodiac BOM, I am still working hard on the videos. We've had some family stuff come up that has definitely side tracked me mentally, as well as sick kiddos. I decided to actually make good videos instead of quick persicope videos (so that is taking a lot longer) but I promise I'll get them up as soon as possible on the Zodiac Blog!!! (I have sent blog invites to everyone, if you haven't been able to get on please let me know! WordPress is proving to be difficult, which is a bummer, but hopefully things will improve.) And then there are the sneak peeks of the Pisces block coming too!! I can't wait! And how is it almost valentine's day already???? How is it even February already? Life needs to SLOW DOWN! uhhh. ;) lol. Maybe one day I'll get used to this crazy thing called life.

Anyway, how is your year going???  Hopefully things are going great! and not so crazy...
