Flopping...

Well, I LOVE everyone who is excited for the cash envelope sew along! and for those of you who've entered the giveaway! :D

But otherwise... I feel like it's kind of flopping! Yep, I'm just going to come out from behind this computer screen and be honest. "HI! Nice to meet you!" :) I think next time I try something like this I probably should be a little more organized, and... I don't know. Have any of you ever had giveaways or blog events? Did they turn out super awesome with a lot of response? or did they totally flop and fizzle into nothing? What do you do? what did you learn? Any tips?

Ok, I'm done with the 20 questions. Haha. :)

I did have one idea (get ready to meet Diane the dork!) lol. What if there was one spot where everyone could "advertise" all their giveaways? Like a blog that was strictly a running list of giveaways? Then everyone who likes to enter giveaways can simply check there and find them! That way you won't ever miss a giveaway, and those who are offering them will have a way to let others know about them outside of their normal readers. :) hum? Well, it's not like I don't have anything better to do, but the other night I put this little blog together: The One Stop Giveaway Shop. What do you think? I think it could really be a great thing, if people want to use it. Anyone want to join up with me in making this a happening thing? lol. :) (I think I've got it down to the very basics so it won't be so much work... just getting it started will be the big thing I think.)

  2. just thought of this... what if you use a google form to accept the info? that might be easier to manage than people listing it in comments. (also, i just figured out how to set them up! so of course i think i need to use them for everything. hehe)

  4. That is a good idea. My last two giveaways I had 5 and 11 entrants—not a ton. I know more people than that read my blog; I guess they just weren't interested?

  5. LOVE the idea of one stop shopping. LOL!! I would totally support. I would also love to have someone (yeah, not stepping up to the plate here...LOL) have a one stop shop for quilt/sew/stitch alongs...I never find them until they have already started.

  6. I will look at it (I am number 5 to join it) will at least see what shows up. Their is a fine line between every one knowing about your give away and EVERY ONE knowing about it. Being one of 100 is not bad but when your one of 15,324 my odds are almost not worth it. But Ill give this a shot.

  7. Hi Diane,

I think this is a wonderful idea. As a new blogger, even if you had great stuff you wanted to give away your following isn't big enough to have anyone to tell!!! But you have give aways as one way to help let people know you are out there. See the problem?!?!? Having a centralised place to see many give aways would help solve this problem for us newbies as well as help us all get to know each other a little better. In fact, I have already been to the new blog (heard about it from Rachael at Imagine Gnats) and joined as a follower!!

And I'm with Rachael on this - anyone who wanted to start a quilt/sew/stitch along blog - YES PLEASE. It is hard playing catch up if you join in late.

    Cjeers,
    Karen
